IceGraft Hair Transplantation
IceGraft hair transplantation technique is a hair transplantation procedure in which cold application method is used to protect hair follicles. In IceGraft hair transplantation technique, the grafts (hair follicle) removed from the donor area are wetted with cold pads, thus keeping them alive and intact. When the grafts are soaked in a special cold solution, cell and tissue losses are prevented.
How IceGraft hair transplantation is performed?
IceGraft hair transplantation process begins by applying local anesthesia to the scalp to relieve any discomfort during the transplantation process. With local anesthesia, no pain or ache can be felt during follicle extraction or transplantation. After local anesthesia takes effect, each hair graft is extracted from the donor area one by one with special instruments. Each removed hair graft is placed in a cold solution used in the IceGraft hair transplantation process to improve quality and survival. Thanks to this cooling application specific to this technique, the temperature of the grafts drops, creating anti-inflammatory effect.
After extracting the hair grafts and strengthening them in solution, hair transplantation operation starts. Each follicle extracted using special implanter pens is implanted into the areas where hair thinning is experienced taking into account the individual hair design. Grafts kept in cold solution adapt to the body’s natural temperature and help reduce the risk of redness and edema in hair transplantation areas. In addition, the cold solution improves the viability of hair grafts and contributes to the increase in the retention rate.
Who are suitable for this technique?
Anyone who is exposed to male or female type baldness, who has hair loss due to aging, alopecia or trauma, who has adequate hair graft rate in the donor area and who is healthy otherwise is suitable for IceGraft hair transplantation technique.

What is the healing process like?
Hair transplantation using this technique can take from 7 to 8 hours. Your scalp may be very sensitive after surgery. You may need to take painkillers for a few days. Your surgeon will make sure you wear bandages on your scalp for at least one or two days. They may also give you an antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory medication for a few days. Most people can return to work 2 to 5 days after surgery.
The transplanted hair falls out by entering the shock loss phase within 2 to 3 weeks after the surgery, but the hair begins to grow again within a few months. Most people see 60% of new hair growth after 6 to 9 months. In about a year, the hair enters the normal growth cycle.
